Affiliated with Sutter Health and the University of California, Davis School of Medicine, the Family Medicine Residency Program provides advanced medical training to residents who have completed their medical school education. The three-year program enables residents to train with board-certified family medicine clinicians who serve as faculty.
Patients who select a family practice clinician who participates in the residency program may receive their care from a resident clinician. The clinicians provide maternity care for uncomplicated pregnancies, care for children and adults of all ages. All residents are fully supervised by experienced faculty clinicians who review and coordinate all of the patient’s care. In fact, the program allows residents to spend more time with patients.
When developing a diagnosis and treatment plan, the residents consult with one or more supervising faculty clinicians to ensure comprehensive, high-quality care for patients utilizing the latest medical technology.
